According to Wikipedia, there is a slight gender imbalance in the world population -- males usually out number females at birth. I believe there is a disparity in these numbers, because everyone I know keeps having girls!!
In the last few years, my good friends from both Columbus and Traverse City (and Cincinnati!) have helped to tip the gender imbalance back into the females' favor :
